Journal of International Migration and Integration

Volume 3, #2
JIMI is pleased to announce a special issue on Immigrant Diversity and Political Participation in Select North American and European Cities. This issue will be guest edited by Drs. Anver Saloojee and Anja van Heelsum.
Some of the important themes it will explore include the way in which newcomer immigrant communities experience and engage in civic participation. Is it important for political and administrative institutions to reflect the ethno-racial diversity of the citizenry? Do immigrant communities experience barriers as they seek to participate in meaningful ways in civic politics? What do immigrant communities identify as the priority issues on the municipal landscape and how do they perceive municipal politicians and administrators' responses to these issues?
