Atlantic Centre (AMC)
The Atlantic Centre held its annual research and planning
retreat in May. Participants received a document detailing
activities and research projects of each of the eight domains: Citizenship,
Justice and Security ; Culture
Language and Identity ; Economic
Consequences of Immigration ; Education ; Gender,
Migration and Diversity/Immigrant Women ; Health
and well-being of Immigrants ; Human
Rights and Social Justice ; and Imagining
Integration in a Post-National Environment : Language Values
and Attittudes . Copies of this document can be obtained
by contacting Colin Hluchaniuk at metropolis@ns.alliantzinc.ca
In addition to its core grant, AMC has leveraged in excess
of $1 million in research funding during its first full year
of operation. The fruits of this investment will be seen
in a regular newsletter and working paper series which will
commence this autumn. Updates on the AMC’s activities
