Workshop description:
Family reunification, for a long while believed to be a fairly straightforward topic, is now turning in an hotly debated on (see also the challenges to agree on the EU Council Directive concerned

Goals of the workshop:
To put the related issues in context (legal principles, echr, integration, interests of the individual and the receiving society, etc)

Policy relevance and topic: It is not known whether the council will have agreed on a regulation, but even if that were the case, the relevance is obvious.

How international comparisons are included: Implementation, policy development of countries like Germany, Denmark, Austria and others will be taken into account

Reference to concerns with policy-making and best practice: The search for best practise is an ongoing one
