Workshop description: The extension of social welfare to newcomers is an important issue. This particularly true for the health services, both in case of legally residing aliens (e.g. asylum seekers) and rejectees or illegaly residing aliens. What health services can and should be provided? Should the situation in the country of rigin be taken into account?
Goals of the workshop: Questions need to be formulated, preferably in a multidisciplinary context. Some answers may be available.
Policy relevance and topic: Most societies ask the question what the health service obligations towards newcomers are, particulary as most countries are available and may be updated. Comparisons between ,most European countries are available and may be updated
